HMTV Asia: 1. Hi guys hows it going?
NORMAN MATTHEW: things are going great!
HMTV Asia: 2. Whats new with the band?
NORMAN MATTHEW : Working on the next NEVER 3NOUGH record as we speak. Have ton's of material to choose from and work on.
HMTV Asia: 3. How did you come up with the name Never Enough?
NORMAN MATTHEW : It was keith barney (18 VISIONS) idea...basically as a human race, no matter what, we NEVER have enough...never have enough money, love, sex, greed, power. Its a common thread in the world we live in today.
HMTV Asia: 4. How did you guys started?
NORMAN MATTHEW : Trevor, Keith and I had met when both LYLAH and 18 VISIONS were on WARPED TOUR..Trevor and I had kept in touch and one day when I was in LA trevor had text me saying keith was gonna hit me up about a project..I figured it might be a production question as I was in town speaking on a panel at the ASCAP "I Create Music Expo". I had no clue what it was about...Keith asked if i wanted to sing on some tracks he and trevor had done on tour with 18 VISIONS...so he sent me "ON SUNDAY" and "TO THE BOTTOM" which both ended up being on our first release "1.0"..So I laid vocals over the tracks in my studio and sent them back to the guys and when I did they were totally feeling them which was amazing for me as I was an 18 VISIONS fan..so it was a really really cool situation to step into.
HMTV Asia: 5. During the first years when you started what are your biggest challenges?
NORMAN MATTHEW : Nothing really. We had all been aroudn the block once with the "major label" industry blah and really understood what it took on a mature, egoless level to make a band sucessful and cohesive.We have a good grasp of songwriting, structure, production and ideas from working on sooo many projects, so we really just jumped in and ended up with two records worth of material..We all brough a network and contacts to the table and the only realy factor was me living in texas and the band in california, which a few flights solved that dilema, so knock on wood,up to this point, its been an amazingly easy and chill situation Im thankful to be a part of.
HMTV Asia: 6. What are your favorite bands?
NORMAN MATTHEW: Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Kiss,Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Type O Negative,Rammstein,brutal dark stuff ;) Yet melodic and catchy
HMTV Asia: 7. I like your song N3w R3gim3 please tell me about that song?
NORMAN MATTHEW : I was in a totally destructive mood one day and wanted to write a song about it for the masses ya know? A song a crowd could sing and feel and really make it their anthem. I was in a mood to fuck up everything and it came out great! In a rad instance, my publisher hit me up two days later out of nowhere about submitting a song for a movie soundtrack he was scoring called "FINALE".. I sent two new NEVER 3NOUGH songs "NEW REGIME" and "PERFECT STRANGERS" and they picked up both...I just saw the trailer and I am sooo psyched for the movie to come out!
HMTV Asia: 8. Where do you get your inspiration when writting a song?
NORMAN MATTHEW: It all depends...anything can trigger it...a mood...an idea...a feeling...something someone says..a beat..a riff...just all depends where my head is at ya know?
HMTV Asia: 9. How would you describe your music?
NORMAN MATTHEW : Brutal, Dark, Sexxy, Heavy, Seductive and Melodic
HMTV Asia: 10. How its like being on tour?
NORMAN MATTHEW : With NEVER 3NOUGH we've done some dope shows Im proud of. Out of the gate we already had a really good following which made things killer! We dont want to tour to sell records though, we really want to play to prove a point and make a difference ya know?
HMTV Asia: 11. When your not on tour what keeps you busy?
NORMAN MATTHEW : I write for bands.. I produce ALOT of artists in my studio... I write for my other project LYLAH (myspace.com/LYLAH) and im currently in the middle of pre-production with Platinum Producer BEAU HILL of RATT, WARRANT, ALICE COOPER fame, working on music for other artists.
HMTV Asia: 12. Are you working on a new song or album at this time?
NORMAN MATTHEW : We are working on the second record.. picking up where we left off and stepping it up a notch as well.. if you're a fan of our debut release "1.0", you're gonna LOVE the next record!
